Thai massage is a type of bodywork that involves stretching and deep tissue techniques. It is known in Thailand as “Nuad Phaen Boran.”
Thai massage is one of the most popular massage therapies offered in spas today, but it was originally developed by Buddhist monks in Thailand as a healing modality. It combines passive stretching and gentle pressure along the body's energy lines to increase flexibility, relieve muscle and joint tension and balance the body's energy systems. The practice is deeply relaxing and energizing.
Thai massage is also called Thai yoga massage because the therapist uses their hands, knees, le and feet to move the client into a series of yoga-like stretches. Many people say Thai massage feels like doing yoga without any effort.
Thai massage helps relieve tension within the body and can be effectively used for pain relief. It improves the function of the lymphatic system and blood circulation, balances the nervous system, and clears blocked or stagnant energy. It is suitable for a range of musculoskeletal issues, including pain in the back, neck, shoulders, hips and legs.
